Becker was born in Essex but lived and painted for the latter part of his life in Wenhaston, Suffolk, where he produced his best work. He drew and painted in a highly expressive and distinctive ‘plein air’ style. He exhibited regularly at the R.A., R.B.A., the N.E.A.C. and the Walker Gallery. It is his lack of embellishment and his total immersion in his environment that give his work the vibrancy and familiarity that is so immediately appealing.
