Eric Fraser’ is best known for his work as illustrator of the Radio Times for four decades and it was he, more than any other artist, that gave the magazine its visual identity. Fraser, who had studied at Goldsmiths, also taught at Camberwell School from 1926. The Grand Duchess of Gerolstein is an operetta by Jacques Offenbach. The story is a satirical critique of unthinking militarism and concerns a spoiled and tyrannical young Grand Duchess who learns that she cannot always get her way.
