Seago was a self-taught English painter who worked in both watercolour and oil. His work loosely falls under the heading of “British Impressionism”. He was famously admired and collected by the Royal Family and people queued for the openings of his exhibitions.
This is a fine example of his abilities with wash and colour and also his talent for painting figures full of movement (figures not often being featured in his paintings).
